Kara A. Achille, DMD, MS

Hi,

I am a Board Certified Periodontist and Dental Implant Specialist.  The most valuable thing my education taught me was how much can be done to slow down bone loss to help prevent tooth loss.  Every year I continue to learn more on how to incorporate minimally invasive procedures and evidence-based science into our practice.

I am passionate about helping you reduce inflammation in order to improve your overall systemic health.  One of my favorite parts of my job is esthetic periodontics.  I find it very rewarding to help others improve their smile and gain confidence.  We look forward to working with you to help you meet your goals!

My husband and I moved to Maine in 2017.  We have one son and a miniature schnauzer named Daisy.  We love living in Maine and try to spend as much time as possible outside hiking, skiing, and exploring all that this great state has to offer.

I am a member of the American Academy of Periodontology, the American Dental Association, and the Greater Portland Dental Society.  For my master’s thesis I studied diabetes and dental implants.  In dental school I received a Certificate of Achievement from the Northeastern Society of Periodontists.  I also enjoy working as part time faculty at the University of New England Dental Hygiene Clinic.
